At Cohesion Clinical Psychology, I specialise in individual counselling for adults who are overwhelmed, stressed and not satisfied with the life they are currently living. I can help if you lack confidence, worry what others think and are hard on yourself. Perhaps you feel shame or guilt for not having everything in your life under control. Privately, you may be struggling with thoughts of self-doubt and fears about what the future holds. You desperately want to feel better or regain the life you once had but you don’t know where to start.
I believe that everyone at some point in their lives faces challenges and struggles emotionally to a certain degree. In fact, almost half of the Australian adult population has or will experience a mental disorder at some point in their lifetime. Whether you are adjusting to a major life transition, a work-related injury, or losing a loved one, I want you to know that you are not alone in your struggles and most importantly, relief is possible. I specialise in helping individuals like you go from feeling overwhelmed and unsatisfied to feeling in control of your emotions and confidently able to handle life’s many stressors.
Many of the clients I successfully treat describe a variety of symptoms that affect their overall wellbeing and happiness. I can help you if you are struggling with:
Anxiety or worry
Difficulty sleeping
Feeling low, lethargic or exhausted
Difficulties in your relationship with your partner and/or kids
Distressing memories of past events (e.g., child abuse/trauma)
Grief/loss
A lack of motivation
Pain that is affecting your mood and/or behaviour
Strong urges to drink, gamble or eat when you feel sad or angry
I understand that you might be scared or reluctant to ask for help, particularly if you (or someone else) tells you that you “shouldn’t” feel, think or act in a certain way. I know that deep down you want to feel better and not be a burden to anyone.
But I believe that individuals do better when they stick together (rather than suffer in silence). Feeling connected to others and having healthy relationships is protective. That’s why I strive for strong cohesion in every aspect of my work, and I value the role of compassion and connection in the therapeutic relationship.
I aim to help you tell your story, empower you to take valued action and to make a difference to your life and to those you care about.

ACT also builds resilience by helping you tolerate the natural discomfort that comes with life’s challenges, empowering you to make meaningful, values-driven choices.
FAQS
If you have never seen a psychologist before you may be wondering about what happens in treatment. In the first session, we will have an in-depth conversation that focuses on what you are hoping to get help with. Good treatment begins with a thorough assessment of your needs and wants. This takes at least one session but we typically re-assess as we go along. Once we have a detailed understanding of your concerns and goals, we are in a better position to develop a treatment plan for you. The following sessions will involve us working collaboratively on the issues that you most want help with. There is not necessarily a certain number of sessions that are required to treat a given condition. So, our approach is flexible, and we are guided by your progress and personal circumstances when booking sessions.
We are able to see clients funded by Medicare with a current and valid Mental Health Care Plan, WorkSafe or clients paying privately.
Please contact your private health insurer to determine your out-of-pocket expense. Full payment is required on the day. An invoice will be emailed to you.
We can process Medicare rebates on your behalf. Please bring your Mental Health Care Plan to your first appointment.
Standard consultation fee (roughly 50 minute consultation): $220
Extended EMDR consultation fee (roughly 80 minute consultation): $300
Fees are the same for online and face-to-face sessions.
We aim to provide the best possible care to all of our clients. We know that you will get the most benefit if you attend your appointments as agreed with your psychologist. However, we understand that you may need to cancel or postpone an appointment.
We ask that you provide 24 hours notice if you cannot attend your scheduled appointment as cancellations have a flow-on effect in that other clients waiting to be seen may miss out.
If less than 24 hours notice is given, you will be charged $100 for the missed appointment.
Repeated cancellations may result in the termination of sessions.
Please note that cancellation fees cannot be claimed through Medicare.
I offer both online (video or phone) and face-to-face consultations.
Do you offer therapy for individuals that identify as neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+?
I strive for an inclusive practice that affords all individuals the best care and treatment.
I have successfully treated individuals who identify as neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+. Please feel free to contact me to determine if I can help you.
